Fresh Pow and Bluebird

Today I planed a nice relaxing day to recover a little bit, but than I saw the nice fresh powder out of the window and I thought: "ok let's go for some turns, why not.". And now I'm super happy that I went up to Gaißau, couse there was waiting bluebird for me..yeahh =)

learned a new trick

Yesterday was a really sick day at the Absolutpark. Bluebird, some fine warm temperatures again and a well shaped two times double kickerline.
And I was thinking about a nice style trick so I decidet to lern a "cork 7 truckdriver" and I almost have done it, one time I grabed with the left hand and the next time with the right one, but I think I need some more practise than I will get it done with both hands =)

New skis in Test

Some weeks ago I already got my new Majesty Skis! Rally sweet graphics and colours this year! great jop guys =)

And also for riding, they are super nice like always. I also testet my hiking skis today and I must say I think I will like this a lot =) haha its kinda nice walking up the mountain, and there is just you and the nature. I do really enjoy that. But my ankle is still not healed, so I always have to be very carefull while skiing. And it sucks so much now, because I want to go skiing again in all ways and without any pain.

On Tuesday we had a little shooting at the Boardshoppark at Gaißau/Hintersee. That's a small SkiResort near my home, about 20min with the car.
It was a really nice session with Moritz Schwarz, Flo Ehgartner, and some Boarders.

Hey guys, here is the reason why I had time to cut 2 videos in one week. It's because I got injuried a little two weeks ago while riding a sled - i hope this is the right word for it. Anyway we had a little problem with the right direction so we hit the wall with my leg between, luckily i just got a little bleeding and some skin on my ankle was gone. Unluckily for me that this position is really bad for wearing a skiboot. So I had to stay at home since sunday two weeks ago.

And that sucks, because of the heavy snowfalls last week and than 2 awesome bluebird days. The bad thing was that it got irritated so it took even longer to heal, but now it seems to getting better, so i hope i can make a good competition tomorrow at the ISPO contest in munich.

So because of all that time I wasn't able to ski i did some other things, like preparing my new helmet google combinations, big thanks to Bliss and Dr. Zipe

setting up the new furniture I got for birthday from my parents (already)- thx by the way and big thanks also to Seidl Boardshop for supporting me with so many small stuff =)

and of course and what else a lot of gaming ;-)

3rd @ Battle Rojal Schöneben

Yeah yeah, the second Tour stop is over and I got 3rd again. =)
It was a very crazy day for me. It started at 5am packing my stuff and than I left at 6 alone with my car. After 3,5h driving I arrived in Schöneben - Southtyrol/Italy - and it was super cold, with like -19°C ^brrrrrrr..
Anyway I got up to the mountain and checked out the course, and it looked really nice, so after some training runs I did the qualifing and landed on 3rd there to. So I thougth to push myself a little harder in the finals. I did my first run safe again with a: 270 in at the down pipe to right 5 reverse mute to sw 9 mute. For the second run I wanted to do the same but just with a sw 10, but I screwed the take of up so I did kinda like a shitty sw 9 misty no grab to bail. That bothers me a little, because if I did have land it I would have been in the front..but whatever I can not change it anymore =)

Deep Deep Powlines before and after Work

Yesterday in the morning I drove back to Flachauwinkl for work, and good for me was that the people I should teach got stuck at there cottage because of the danger of an avalanche. So I did some shoveling work in the morning and than went up the mountain to check if there are some free lines for me. And than I discovered that there was nobody on my favourit spot right under and next to the chairlift. So I did one first track after another in like 60cm to 1m deep freshest, fluffy powder =)
And I also pushed my freeriding to the next level, hitting a lot of small and big cliffs with low and high speed. It was soooooo sick, I stomped every hit except one. So I really enjoyed that day =)

My good friend Mo (Moritz) and I have been at the ski resort Gaißau/Hintersee on saturday to do some pow filming. We were up there as early as possible so we had a lot of first tracks for us =) haha so sweet. It was really nice, with some good weather in the morning and than again some snowfall.
Unluckily we had some troubles getting the right angle for our GoPros so a lot of shoots got screwed up, but we also got some nice ones. check it out:

Today I just moved in my new room for the winter. It's quite small but really nice, all is totally new and we have a nice big kitchen for all together. So now my way to work is just like, walking down the stairs, putting on my skis and driving down the slope =) hahaha, because the house is right on the mountain next to the second chair-lift base-station. So sweet =)

really awesome, and the new superpipe of the Absolutpark is now about just 100m away of my place and I have a straight look to it of my room--> i will take a picture for you guys tomorrow.

yeahh yeahh yeahh, the first competition for me this year is past. And I'm very happy that I reached the 3rd place =)
Because of my work - which ended yesterday - I was not able to ski a lot in the last two months, so I'm proud on myself that I did that good runs in the contest.

Last weekend I went up to Kitzsteinhorn for the first QParks-shooting this season. It was a lot of fun with all the guys, we did a little normal skiing at first and than moved up to the glacierpark to do the actual park shooting. Anyway check out the pics and the nice video edit

Summer is ending

Hi guys,now the summer takes an end and so I will start writing again a little bit at my blog =)So, I will give you a rough idea what I have done the last couple of months.My summer war really nice until yet, I had a lot of time to relax and enjoyed the sun, lakes, playing beachvolleyball, mountainbiking, running and just chilling ;) . Last wednesday we headed up to Kitzsteinhorn Glacier Park for the last Qparks shooting this season. The conditions was ok, sun was sometimes there but we tryed to do our best. And finally we got some nice shoots, check it out.

QParks Tour Finals - Dachstein

After a whole season with 10 tourstops in 3 diffrent countries, a lot of hours in my car and thousands of kilometers the finals of the QParks Tour was finally on at Dachstein this weekend.
After I was leading the whole tour I already fixed my overall victory and I'm very glad to announce that I got 1st at the QParks Tour Overall Ranking. So the finals was just for the prizemoney of the day.

It was held in a head to head battle, which I was lucky because there was 17 starters and so I got a free ticket for the finals of the best 5. In the finals we had 2 runs, best counts, and because of the bad weather which was coming up at around 1pm the organisators had a little hurry to make our final runs happen.
So I did my first run with a sw9 mute to cork9 tail to 180 on the wall. I thought it was pretty good but I just got 200points - that was after run one the 4th rank.

For the second run I decidet to try my other run and that was right 7 mute to left cork9 tail to 180on180off the wall. I'm happy with the run, it was not perfect but still I got 255points and so I got in 3rd place for the final day ranking. =)

I'm happy with my final result and so I also extended my lead in the overall ranking and I also was able to become the most liked rider - and thats so awesome because I got a 2 weeks bali camp trip allinclusive!! so stoked about that and also the prizemoney was pretty sick!

Dachstein Shooting

2 weeks ago we had the firts Dachstein Shooting this year with the speacial Channel Gap.

It was pretty huge and because of speed problems I just hit it once straigth and once the gap. after my run my friend tryed it to and crashed hard into the wall. Luckily he got not hurt bad. After that I stoped jumping this thing and we started shooting the normal Kickers and Rails, which was really nice because we where up there at 6:00 in the morning so there where no people exept all invited rideres for the shooting. =)

3rd Place at Ride On / Kitzsteinhorn

Hey guys,
past sunday the last regular Q-Parks tour stop was going down at Kitzsteinhorn. The legendary "Ride On".
I arrived pretty early up there so I had a couple runs to check in the medium line where the contest was held - because of the warm conditions so that everybody have a fair chance in case of speed issues. So after some trainingruns the competition started and we made a jam session with one judged technical and one style run and overall max. 5 runs. I did my 5 runs and made them pretty nice, stomped everyone almost clean and so I finally ended up in 3rd place. Place 2 to 6 was just 30,9 to 30,2 points - it was really close.
I'm really really happy about this because I got 20 more points on my tour ranking and so I have 159 points! yeahh, no body can get me anymore, so stoked about that!!!

Sick Trick tour open

Hey guys,
last weekend were the Sick Trick Open at Kitzbühel, this was also part of the Qparks Tour so I went there for the comp. According to my health this day - I got sick some days before - I was not on my level I usually are, but after 3 hard runs in really deap slush I finally was able to put my self in 4th place, what I think is ok for my fitness this day. =)

2nd place at Oberland Open

Hey guys,
the weekend is passed and so the Oberland Open at Fiss-Ladis.
I started my trip on friday evening and I got a nice accomodation at the Qparks Appartement, thx guys! So on saturday I got up the mountain after a big breakfast and than searched for the park. After checking out the Obstacles and some jib runs the competition started. The conditions were very hard: almost icy take offs and landings adn strong wind from the left. We had a 2h jam session so I did 3 kicker runs with a big sw9, cork 9 tail - bail, and than another one cork9 tail and than I did 2 jib runs with: 270in 270out at the downrail and a 1080spin over the rainbowbox.
That was enough for the finals but than the organizers decided according to the bad weather to cancel the finals and so i fianally ranked 2nd!! yeahh! stoked about that. So now I pushed my overall ranking points of the Qparks Tour to 125points and tomorrow the next stop in Kitzbühel is waiting =)

1st at Hochkar Open

Hi guys,
on the 5th March the next stop of the Qparks Tour was on, and this was the Hochkar Open.
I finally made my first 1st Place this year! yeahhh so good to be on the top =)
It was a really hard day because I was riding in Flachauwinkl on friday and I hurt my right ankle and my neck pretty bad so I was thinking to just go easy in the comp.

I left at 6:30am in the morning, picked up Alex Moser near Schladming about 1h later and than we drove together to the Hochkar. Thats like somewhere in nowhere but as we got up the whole setup of the contest was next to the car lot, pretty nice. We picked up our lift tickets, went up and did some trainigs runs. The kicker was a little hard to ride, because it was pretty small and a flat takeoff but I thougt ok this could get a nice comp and a battle between Alex Moser, Markus Androsch and me. Finally it was exactly like that =)
After the quali Markus Androsch and I had the same score in 1st Place and Alex moser was 3rd. Almost the same in the finals, but luckily I was able to get 0,5 points more at one judge and so the 1st Place was mine =)
My final runs (judging was best 2 out of 3): sw 9 | sw cork 7 | sw 10

And so I also was able to get 30 more points for the Qparks Tour so now I have already 100 points which is twice as much than the second Alex, yeahhh =)

2nd @ Kirschbaumbattle / St.Anton am Arlberg

Hey guys,
here is the second update of my past weekend.
After another night in Lenzerheide ( Kurhotel Lenzerheide) and a nice breakfast we started early in the morning 07:30 to St.Anton am Arlberg. Because we didn't wanted to buy a highway ticket we drove on the normal street and checked out the landscape of Switzerland and Lichtenstein. As we arrived in Austria it started to snow and on the way up to the Arlberg we were forced to stop because some stupid German people with a 100k€ BMW was not able to make it to the top. So we got in trouble to but finally we reached the top and the drove down again to St.Anton. There we picked up our ticket and at the top of the gondola the chief woman already waited for us because the Kirschbaumbattle was already on. So we crashed the ridersmeeting and than we were allowed to make on speedcheck run befor the contest started.
So I did my best on my 3 quali runs. The second was perfect with a 270on at the down rail, cork9 tail at the kicker and a 180on to 360of at the wall. So in my 3rd run I just took a switch speed check.
Against my oppinion I got 5th and was very happy about that. Now the Head to Head battle started.
In my first round I knocked out the 4th of the qualification - Fabian Braitsch with a pretzel270 out to sw9 mute to 180on 360 off the wall. In the second round I had to ride against the quali winner Raphael Schweiger (who was the only Austrian rider at the Austian Open who was able to qualifie for the finals there). So I had a hard task and I had to go first. I decided to do a sw10 on the kicker and I made my run perfect and knocked him out to!
There I was in the finals with my opponent Maximilian Noppeney. We had 3 runs and I lost the first because I dindn't get the grap rigth in my sw9. Than the second round was mine with a perfect sw9. So we had to go for another round. Maxi was going first and stomped a perfect run with an huge cork9 double tail so I tryed again the sw10, and I was going biiig. But sadly my right hand touched the snow in the landing and so I lost the battle. But I'm very happy with the 2nd Place and it was an really sick competition!

3rd Place @ Freestyle Madness / Lenzerheide

Hey folks..
sorry for the delay but I was really busy until yet, so here is some update for saturday.
As I already wrote I was invited to go to Lenzerheide for another stop of the QParks Tour.
It was the "Freestyle Madness" contest. So after Nici and I got up in the morning and had a biiiiiig breakfast we drove to the lift and went up in the park. It was really good weather but a little windy, so we expected hard conditions on the contest course - which was a down rail + 1st Kicker (or shoot out box) + 2nd kicker + 3rd kicker - but it wasn't. The whole line was smooth to ride, and after some runs we really enjoyed the nice session with all the swiss riders. The contest was going on fast because the judges were super fast in judging - that was sick - I like that a lot - and good job boys!! So after the quali I was ranked second so I was positive for the finals, were we had to runs with overall impression. Sadly at my first run the weather was getting worse so I was a little to fast on all Kickers and I was not able to land everything perfect. But my second run was perfect and so I was finally able to hit the 3rd Place overall!! Pretty stoked about that!
And Nici got the BestTrick with a double backflip and placed 4th overall!

Trip to Lenzerheide

Hey guys,
some weeks ago Qparks invited me for coming to Lenzerheide and St.Anton for 2 contest which are parts of the Qparks-Tour.
So today I traveled with one other guy (Dominik Sagmeister) to Lenzerheide. We started at Salzburg at 2pm and finally arrived at 7pm at our Hotel (really nice 4 star Hotel in the center of the city).
So now we are just chillin at our room and watching some TV to be ready for the competition tomorrow.
After the contest tomorrow we will travel to St.Anton to be there in the early morning for the next contest on sunday.

Hey guys,
on the 4th of February I was again shooting with QParks at their Park at Gastein!
The travel there was super tired and foggy but after we went up with the long gondola to the Stubnerkobel bluebird was waiting for us!! pretty nice!
Unfortunatly none of us 2 riders and the photographer know how to get to the park so we pushed along the tracking slopes and searched for the park! It was not hard to spot because it was right under us, so we had a pretty sweet big mountain line to ride to get in the fastest way to the park! because it was so much fun we decidet to ride this again =)
But than we started shooting and because of the cold temperatures and the strong wind we were not able to hit the jumps and so we moved to the easy box section at the beginning and than the pro rail/box line! It was really nice to meet the boarderguys and girl and to do some easy tricks

Majesty at ISPO - new collection

Shooting at Planai Superpark with QParks

Hi guys, one week ago on Sunday after the Plan P we (Moritz Schwarz, me and the photo + videographer) went again to the Horsefeatherssuperpark at Planai for the QParks shooting. The weather was just perfect again and the setup as well!
At first we did some easy speed check runs at the big kickerline and than we started.
After we finished with that we also did some shots at the rail line which was also super nice to ride and it's really a lot better than last year! pretty nice!

My first Urban Shooting

Hey guys,
last thursday I organized a nice urban shooting near my home. I started building up the spots at about 11am, at 18pm the photographer "Klaus Listl" came and we started shooting at the first Obstacle - a smooth down tail with wall and stairs - and also the €€€-Crew joined us with a camera guy and 4 riders

after that Klaus and I moved to the down rail next to the train rails which was really hard to get on with no speed, but after 3 times crashing on the stairs and one to the other side I was able to stomp it and here is the shot

the next spot was a nice wall under a bridge, and after more than 2 hours of building we started to hit it, at first we were almost to slow, but after some runs and some starting help to get more speed we got some nice airs

so after more than 7h of spotting and building and 5h of riding and shooting we finished at 11pm and we went for a little snack to McDonalds and after that for a good night home.
It was a really good day and night..

Big Showdown at the Horsefeathers Superpark Planai – Plan P 2011

Anyone who got up the Planai on this beautiful Saturday for the Plan P, the first tourstop of the QParks Tour 2011, was rewarded with epic conditions! Bright sunshine, perfect temperature and a sick setup of the Horsefeathers Superpark Planai made everyone happy. So no wonder that there have been just smiling faces all around.

Because I was a little late up at the mountain (damn traffic jam and 1000s of people at the bottom gondola) I was just able to hit the whole kickerline for the first time this year for only 4 times before the competion starts. But luckily I was able to stomp my first qualification run including a fastplant underflip 5 to sw9 mute to 9 tail =) And so I reached the finals. Where we had two runs and best counts. The first run I did the same again like in the quali and I stomped it super nice and so I decided to risk at the second run wich included a sw rodeo 5 to 9 tail to sw 10 mute but sadly I got at the second kicker a little to far to the right and so I had do a big curve on the last one and I was just able to do a bad sw 9.

But my first run was so super steezy that I was able to beat Felix Prankl who did a kangaroo flip and also the pro skier Tobi Tritscher. Only Alex Moser got in front of me, so I hit the second place!! Yeahhh =)

Hey folks,
some guys have been shooting at the Absolutpark/Flachauwinkl. I didn't even recognized them, and now they send me a message on Youtube and Facebook if thats me on the picture. I'm just wondering how they find me =)
But its nice because now I have some more pictures of myself whithout doing anything than just riding..^haha..
like that a lot. The first 4 pics are made while I was coaching Freeski at Absolutschool - and these are my work clothes ;-) - and the last one was on a day off work.

Contest: Jib King at Absolutpark - 8th place

Hi guys,
this past weekend the "Jib-King" was held at Absolutpark - Flachauwinkl.
It started on Friday with the qualification and it was really tough, but I was able to make it to the finals. On Saturday it started with the quali of the snowboarders and at 4pm the practice for the finals at the special setup startet. At first we had to hike up again all the time, this was really exhausting but then they got an sled to tow us up to the start again. That was really fun, because we had to fight for a place behind the sled and most time I was able to catch the rope as one of the firsts =)

At 5pm the finals started with us freeskiers, mixed men and rookies(5x rookies and 20x men). We had 2 runs and the best counts. I was able to stick a very nice first run with a 270 in on the pretty huge down rail, than a steezy 450 off the canon box and a 540 nose bonk on the hanging barrel. In my second run I wanted to do a 270 in 270 out than a 630 off at the canon and a 7 nose bonk but unfortunately one of my skis fall off while I was landing at the down rail and so i was not able to finish my line. pretty fucked up about that but it happend, who cares. But I finally finished at the 8th place and I'm proud about that, because the level of the riders was really amazing and the judging is sometimes really hard here. So I'm stoked and I'm looking forward to some more good results at the next upcoming events.

Freeski Coaching

Some time is gone again, and my first two weeks of teaching little kids how to ski classic are past. This week I finally have my first freeski coaching. It's harder than teaching classic skiing but it's way more fun an I also can ski on my own and try some new easy tricks..that's so good! =)

Work as a ski instructor

Hi guys,
finally I got some time to update my blog again!

So where should I start?! Well, on sunday the 12th of December I started to work as an Ski instructor in Flachauwinkl, at Absolutschool where one of the best parks of the world (check the Red Bull park voting) the Absolutpark is located! So last week we just started to build everything up, clean our container and put together a lot of stuff.
But a really bad thing happend last tuesday, I crashed my car.. It sucks so much..now I have to look for a new one ;-(

Whatever... This last 3 days I had my first guest, and it was an German guy on his first day on skis ever.. it was very challenging but I think I did a good job, because now he is able to ski the whole mountain on his own..

Hopefully I get some more time the next days to ski on my own, to practice and get some fun with all the crazy guys shredding the park..

First QParks Shooting - Kitzsteinhorn Glacier Park

Hello everybody,
When the QParks film guys Clemens Prankl and Michael Pilko and photographer Roland Haschka crested the Kitzsteinhorn last Saturday together with a bunch of snowboarders and freeskiers, we were welcomed by blue skies and sunshine but also freezing winds. The thermometer at slightly below 3.000m showed winterly -17° Celsius. Nevertheless the freeskiers around Patrick Ausweger and me (Max Brandauer) as well as the snowboarders of the Weazel crew with Davo Struber, Flo Pötzl and Christoph “Mr. Weazel” Wintersteller and also Benny Hopfgartner, Georg Ischepp and Kitzbühel local girl Sarah Jane Philips weren’t undeterred by those conditions and rocked the park regardless all consequences!

Dachstein Easyjibbing Edit

Hey guys, after the world premier in Budapest the first Hungarian Freeskimovie "What?" of the Freeski-Maffia is now available online for free!
It has become a really good movie and I'm very proud that I'm a part of that! Thx guys for the great time together and you did an awesome job. Big congratulations!

My part starts at about 13:18. Sadly it is a little short because I got hurt at the VonZipper Gong crash (you see in the beginning of the movie) but all the other guys rock hard as well!! ;-)

Hey folks,

today was my last day were I was working as an communicationengineer at Eurofunk Kappacher.
It's a little sad because I was working there for 17months now. But I'm also very happy when I look into the future to my new job. And this will be "Freeski Instructor" at Flachauwinkl - Absolutpark. Gonna be super sick!!
Looking forward to a great and all day skiing season!! =)
I hope I'm able to go to a lot of shootings and contests again, but anyway I will keep you on air, anytime anything interesting happens.. see ya

First Contest of 2010/11 - "Back on Board" at Kitzsteinhorn

Hey everybody...This past saturday was the first contest of this season where I was competing! It was a "Jib for Cash" competition, and unfortunately I was just able to get bugs for 4 times, because our Ski-Judge was looking for self destructing or incredible technical tricks! So it was really hard! The Snowboarders judge was way better so they got most of the money.. But this doesn't matter, it was fun to meet all the guys again and it was a sick jib session with a lot really good tricks!

Hey guys, so for my new "career" for the upcoming season I'm gonna be a Freeski instructor. And for that I have to do the Austrian Ski Instructor curse here at Kitzsteinhorn. It's pretty hard to ride the slopes in a way a beginner does! And it sucks after 4 days =)

Shooting days in Les 2 Alpes

So today was the first day in the park, and there is just one word: AWESOME!!
I have never seen such a nice superpipe before..it looks like this one in the NZ-Park. So my first aim of the day was to get some nice airs in there - amd I'm super stoked about that.
But the whole park is incredible..super wide takeoffs at the kickerline, nice setup of the Kumi Yama and a pretty sweet jib line as well.
Tommorow I hopefully get some pics from all of that..

Trip to Les deux Alpes

Hi guys, yesterday we (Torge, the Freeski Maffia and me) where traveling from Dachstein to Budapest. To unload the kids of the camping week. We organized a lot of stuff and than we went to Peter Csanaky's flat to get some sleep for the long trip.
So today were leaving Budapest at around 12 because we had to call a tire service to fix the wheels on the car. But after that we started and we finally arrived at Les deux alpes at 4 in the morning after a 16h drive..pretty wasted right now but its good to be here.

Hey boys and girls out there in Austria...whats up??
Heute war Slopestyle Contest hier bei den The North Face Ski Challenge, und das Wetter war super schlecht: Schneefall, Nebel, null Sicht..und der Park bzw die Kickerline ist so absolut unmöglich zu fahren! Aber da ja alle die gleichen Bedingungen hatten konnte ich mit meinem run scheinbar ganz gut punkten und mit dem 2ten Zwischenplatz gestern beim Freeriden hatte ich eine ganz gute Ausgangsposition. Heute beim slopestyle hab ichs dann auch wieder ins Finale geschafft und schlussendlich den 1st Place in der Gesamtwertung abgeräumt!! soooo nice!! soo super happy and stoked! =)
